Where to Get Them

Where can a webmaster get a web page database?

Web page databases are advertised and sold over the Internet. Though they are not widely available yet, you can expect to see them popping up all over in the coming months. Software firms offering these database products offer free technical support and reasonable consulting services. Here are a few examples of web page databases that are available for purchase now.

Amoka http://www.toledolink.com/amoka/java.html

Why aren't there more of these systems on the market? Probably because Java is a new development language and programmers are still learning its capabilities. Java developers are busy having fun writing animations or writing tools for themselves and others to use. These web page database systems may be considered unconventional because they are not directly accessing a server database management system with the full indexing support and multiple record type capability. These systems are not as robust as full scale database management systems and some may question them being called a database. But that's ok these systems satisfy a requirement for speed and results.
