Lee Creek
is a former newspaper and wire service writer, editor, and
graphics editor with more than 25 years experience. In 1989, he started
his own company,
Creek Communications, Inc.,
which today builds internet
sites and provides advertising and other desktop publishing services.
CCI recently opened its own recording studio and is establishing its own
music label. In past years, Creek wrote software reviews for various
publications.

Harshal Deo
currently stays in the 'heart' of Silicon Valley and works with a
startup MyHealthepage.com as Technical architect. After working
with Citicorp & KPMG on diverse areas such as distributed
computing , ERP & Data Warehousing , he is currently designing
and developing XML based dynamic Web architecture with J2EE. He
'loves' WDVL Web site because his 7 month old son Nikith keeps

Jonathan Eisenzopf
is an author, teacher, and consultant who has worked with
companies like Netscape, Chrysler, Mecklermedia, Bell Atlantic,
and Litton/PRC to deploy large scale Web-based information
systems. He is presently a Principal Software Engineer and VP of
Technology at
Whirlwind Interactive,
based in the Washington D.C. area. Jonathan is active in the Perl
and XML communities by delivering presentations to user groups,
contributing articles to publications such as The Perl Journal,
authoring modules for CPAN, and maintains
www.perlxml.com,
an information clearinghouse for Perl and XML resources. Jonathan
is also a co-author of an upcoming book from
O'Reilly and Associates
covering Perl and XML.
Richard Friedman, is Director of Rich Media Technology with HP Middleware Division, dealing in these issues for 12 years, making numerous presentations at trade/industry shows and conference sessions.
Ian
Gilfillan lives in Cape Town, South Africa. He is the author
of the book 'Mastering MySQL 4', published by Sybex, and has
been working with MySQL since 1997. These days he develops
mainly in PHP, Perl and MySQL, although he confesses to starting
out with BASIC and COBOL, way back when. He developed South
Africa's first online grocery store, and has developed and
taught internet development and other technical course for
various institutions. He has majors in Programming and
Information Systems, as well as English and Philosophy. He is
currently Lead Developer for Independent Online, South
Africa's largest news portal. He's hoping his next book will
more in the style of William Blake and Allen Ginsberg.
Richard

Benoy Jose

Jason Kinner is the Principal Architect for Hewlett-Packard's Rich
Media Platform. His broad experience includes the design and
implementation of a media distribution system for a large publishing
company. Jason holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and
Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania.
JJ Snyder is a Senior Architect for Hewlett-Packard´s Rich
Media Platform. He has been programming in C/C+ and Java for over 15
years. He was the Chief Architect the award winning Total-e-Mobile
and HP Application Server concentrating on the Servlet 2.3
container.. JJ holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from
the Pennsylvania State University.
Michael M Krznaric
was born in Croatia and lives in Toronto, Canada for last 11 years. A
Computer Science graduate from York University has been programming for
the last 6 years (2+ with PHP). Currently employed full-time as a
Webmaster at a worldwide company with a head office located in
Toronto. Responsible for development and maintenance of various tools
in order to allow users with little or no internet experience to
maintain the corporate intranet content. The language of choice for most
of these tools is PHP. Additionally responsible for 'smooth' co-existence
of various technologies in the companies worldwide intranet environment
including various database systems, PHP, Perl, Unix, NT, XML and Oracle

Alan Richmond
was a software developer for several international scientific research institutes and projects,
such as the Hubble Space Telescope. He has been a web developer
since 1993, starting at NASA/GSFC, and has lectured and presented tutorials on web
design at several conferences. He founded the
Web Developer's Virtual Library
in late 1994, the web's first commercial web site for web developers, and
EncycloZine,
(a concise illustrated encyclopedia and a
compendium of diversions),
the web's first XHTML site, in November 1998.
Lucy Richmond
is a founding member of The WDVL team, and provided both programming
and business support for the site. After many years of full time programming,
including several years for the
NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope,
she now spends her time looking after her family and their small
farm, including various cats, ducks, and a collection of dragons.
Jeff
Rule
is a principal at RuleWeb Development specializing in
DHTML, SMIL, WebTV Interactive TV and Java based multimedia
enhancements for advanced media sites. His first book,
Dynamic HTML: The HTML Developer's Guide
was published in November 1998 by Addison Wesley Longman.
It features many DHTML multimedia examples from his popular

is the President of
